Pilates for Life Studio instructor and Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach, Kay Smith has maintained a high level of fitness and well-being through a consistent and structured program of pilates, aerobics, and weight training. She began her career in health and fitness as an aerobic instructor and a Johnny G. spinning instructor. After gaining extensive experience and knowledge in these areas, she pursued and earned a personal training certification through the American College of Sports Medicine. Kay worked as a personal trainer at the Health and Wellness Center of the United States Air Force Academy and also taught in corporate fitness facilities and health clubs in the Colorado Springs area.

Following reconstructive knee surgery, Kay rehabilitated her knee with the help of Pilates. She was so inspired by this mind/body technique and what it did for her body, that she earned two full certifications in the Pilates technique. She earned her first Pilates certification through the PhysicalMind Institute in New York City. She then went on to get certified by STOTT PILATES® International in Toronto, Canada.

Being aware that osteoporosis has reached epidemic proportions, Kay’s interest gravitated toward specializing in programs for low bone density. She obtained specialty certifications in “Therapilates for Osteoporosis” and “The B.E.S.T. Program for Osteoporosis Prevention” by the National Institutes of Health. She works with chiropractors to provide safe programs for patients with osteopenia and osteoporosis

Kay is also certified as a C.H.E.K. Nutrition and Lifestyle Coach by the C.H.E.K. Institute in San Diego, CA. She provides individualized programs using the cutting-edge techniques of world-renowned Holistic Health Practitioner Paul Chek. In addition, she helps her clients understand the important roles that sleep, food quality, stress reduction techniques, and exercise play in improving their health.

Kay focuses on a self-empowered approach toward health and fitness. Her passion is teaching others how to create a healthy lifestyle for healthy bones and quality of life.
